Hester Liu - Co-President

Hester serves as the co-president of Schulich Finance Association. With a great personality she brings a decade of experience in areas of energy trading, hedging and research in world’s top commodity merchant house and international investment bank. Prior to MBA, Hester worked as trading analyst in Gunvor Group, covering oil derivatives hedging and fundamental research. Before that, she worked in trading strategy and valuation in Deutsche Bank FICC division.

Fluent in English and Mandarin, Hester holds an honour bachelor’s degree in finance from Cass Business School, City University London. She is an enthusiastic history lover and sharing a small fund with friends investing into arts and antiques. She is very outdoorsy, enjoys playing tennis and travelling.

Olaoluwa Olatunji - Co-President   oolatunji18@schulich.yorku.ca   Ola is the Co-President of the Schulich Finance Association. He has experience in business strategy and financial services, including assignments in project finance and equity research. Before joining Schulich MBA, he co-founded Dakal Industries, where he led the operational restructuring, business development, and fund-raising activities for start-up Financial Technology firms. Ola has a passion for strategic development projects, and he aims to transition into tech-focused private equity after graduation.   He currently works for Siemens Canada in the strategic business development department where he helps execute strategic engagements between large public and private sector organizations. He is a CFA Level 2 Candidate and holds an Honors Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK.

Olaoluwa Olatunji - Co-President

Ola is the Co-President of the Schulich Finance Association. He has experience in business strategy and financial services, including assignments in project finance and equity research. Before joining Schulich MBA, he co-founded Dakal Industries, where he led the operational restructuring, business development, and fund-raising activities for start-up Financial Technology firms. Ola has a passion for strategic development projects, and he aims to transition into tech-focused private equity after graduation.

Haelim (Hanna) Hong - Director Finance   haelim01@schulich.yorku.ca   Hanna is the Director of Finance and is passionate about actively engaging students to share their knowledge and insights of finance industry. She wants to lead an environment, wherein all students learn from each other and be more prepared for their dream careers.  For the last eight years of professional experiences, Haelim has worked in various roles, including Accountant, Loan officer (Underwriter) and Account Manager. With her great interest in Risk Management at Banking, Haelim aims to accelerate her career in Credit/Market Risk Management after her completion of MBA. She is a holder of FRM, and she also passed US CPA exams. She is currently a Summer Risk Analyst with the High Risk Client team at RBC Group Risk Management.

She is currently a summer credit associate with the Adjudication Centre of Expertise at Scotiabank- Global Risk Management. Prior to pursuing her MBA, Debleena worked in diverse roles within TD, first as a financial advisor for retail banking and then as an associate trader for TD Ameritrade, Wealth Management division. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Economics at University of Victoria, specializing in business and finance

Prior to pursuing her MBA, Debleena worked in diverse roles within TD, first as a financial advisor for retail banking and then as an associate trader for TD Ameritrade, Wealth Management division. Nitya Singla - Director of Internal Affairs/IT   nsingla18@schulich.yorku.ca   As a Director of Internal Affairs/IT, Nitya is looking to ensure that the current students are given a platform where the interests of one another in finance can be aligned and developed. Prior to joining Schulich MBA, she worked with Deloitte & Touche as an external auditor for ~5 years. She has also lead projects in audit innovation and planning during her prior experience. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is looking to embark on her career in Finance and Accounting.   She is currently interning with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) as an Audit Manager and is looking to embark on her career in Finance and Accounting. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has completed her Bachelor in Commerce (Honors) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.
